Pediatric Eye Exams Include Vision Testing, Binocular Checks, & Prescription Updates

Every child’s exam includes a full assessment of how the eyes work together, how well each eye sees, and whether glasses are needed. We check for nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness, and focusing issues that may affect school performance.

Dr. Idris adjusts each exam to suit the child’s age and comfort level, using clear, age-appropriate language to explain what’s happening throughout the visit.

Early Eye Exams Help Support Learning & Focus in the Classroom

Vision problems often show up in school, especially when children read, look at the board, or switch between screens and paper.

Pediatric eye exams can identify issues like uncorrected myopia, visual strain, or eye-teaming problems that may be mistaken for inattention or reading difficulties.

Identifying these concerns early allows for more comfortable learning and fewer frustrations during the school year.

Consistent Care From the Same Doctor at Every Visit

Dr. Samia Idris is the sole provider at 20/20 Eye Care, so your child sees the same doctor every time. This consistency allows us to track changes over time, adjust prescriptions gradually, and help kids who may be nervous about exams feel more comfortable. For families, it means reliable answers from a provider who knows your child’s visual history firsthand.

Simple, Straightforward Guidance for Parents

After the exam, Dr. Idris walks parents through the results without pressure or confusion. If your child doesn’t need glasses, we’ll say so. If they do, we’ll explain why and help you explore kid-friendly options that are durable, comfortable, and appropriate for their needs. If a referral is needed, we’ll help you take the next step.
